Halloween Chic

Halloween Chic

Happy Halloween, everybody!
I hope you have fun whether you're trick-or-treating, partying, or doing what I'm usually doing (that would be staying indoors on sweet-giving duty, watching scary movies, and jumping out of your skin every time a costumed little kid rings the doorbell). No matter what you're doing, I put together a fashion collage of some terrifyingly cute items that you could wear whether you're dressing up or not.

Here are all the items featured above:
1. Necklace from Gypsy Warrior / $20.00 (Approx. £12.45)
2. Ring from Gypsy Warrior / $18.00 (Approx. £11.20)
3. Collar from Gypsy Warrior / $32.00 (Approx. £19.95)
4. Top from Miss Rebel / £14.99
5. Bracelet from Dorothy Perkins / £6.50
6. Spiked Headband from ASOS / £10.00
7. Skull Jeans from ASOS / £70.00
8. Shirt from Topshop / £52.00
9. "Red Black" Nail Polish from Barry M / £2.99
10. "Gold Mine" Nail Polish from Barry M / £2.99

Hope you have a thriller of a night! (Sorry, that was pretty awful but I couldn't resist.)
 See you next time.

Trend Love: Military

Trend Love: Military
Whenever I see camouflage print clothes, I think badass.
...Then I think about the Destiny's Child music video for Survivor and being the most glamorous tomboy ever.
The military trend is one of my favourite trends this autumn, and camouflage print is one of my favourite prints. I rounded up a few of my favourite items following this trend. It's bold, it's tough, and who on this planet doesn't want to look a little bit more like Beyoncé does in that video? It also goes perfectly with another massive trend this autumn - studs and spikes.

Here are all the gorgeous items featured above:
1. Necklace from AEO / £7.75 + Shipping
2. Jacket from Topshop / £58.00
3. Top from Fashion Union / £12.00
4. Jeans from New Look / £26.99
5. Bag from New Look / £19.99
6. Jacket from Topshop / £65.00
7. Utility Boots from New Look / £29.99

So what do you think about this trend? Are you going to be unleashing your inner badass this autumn?
Until next time, keep on surviving!

Outfit Post: Just A Girl

Welcome to my very first outfit post! Unfortunately, my digital camera is still not playing nice with me right now, so I had to take these pictures with my phone. I'm not a world-class photographer quite yet, but hopefully I'll improve with a bit of practise.

I love wearing dresses. And even though nasty weather is upon us, I don't see any reason to stop. Leather jackets keep you nice and warm, and they look super cute when worn with dresses! Add a cute necklace or maybe a scarf, some tights and clunky boots and you've got yourself an adorable little fall outfit.

Here are some pictures of details in my outfit:

The necklace. I really have no idea where I bought this from, sorry!

And a close up of the dress's print.

Dress from Primark / £10.00
Jacket from H&M / £29.99

Comments are always very much appreciated. Thanks for reading!

Fashion Collage: Owls

Owls are particularly trendy birds right now, aren't they?
In honour of our stylish feathered friends, I put together a collage of some cute owl-themed items.
I particularly love owl coin purses. I bought one a while ago and haven't been able to find one quite like it since. I would show some pictures but my digital camera isn't my biggest supporter at the moment.

Here are all the items featured in the collage
1. Top from New Look / £16.99
2. Coin Purse from Accessorize / £5.00
3. Necklace from River Island / £8.00
4. Ring from New Look / £3.99
5. Ring from Accessorize / £6.00
6. Charm Bracelet from Chelsea Doll / £10.00
7. Watch from River Island @ Asos / £15.00
8. Bag from Dorothy Perkins / £39.00
9. Earrings from Boohoo / £8.00

Do you have any owl-y finds of your own you want to share? Feel free to leave a comment below!

Friday Five: 5 Winter Beauty Essentials

Winter is approaching quickly (perhaps more quickly here in Britain than in other countries) and with it comes a lot of nice stuff like hot cocoa, building snowmen and the opportunity to wear adorable jumpers and cardigans.
But the weather can be a bit rough on the parts of you that aren't bundled up, so this week I'll be writing about a few things to keep you looking and feeling beautiful through all the snow and rain.

Polyvore Post: Rainboots!

Last week I made a post about some cute pairs of wellington boots that I'd found.
This week I set myself a little task of making a couple of Polyvore outfits which feature these wellington boots in them.

Website Review: Wanelo.com

I came across an interesting website the other day, which I'd previously never heard anything about. I've looked around and there doesn't seem to be that much information about it, so I thought I'd try it out and write a bit about it myself. The website is called Wanelo, the name being a combination of want, need and love.

Friday Five: 5 Cute Wellington Boots!

banner credit: pattern and colours
Welcome to my first Friday Five. 2 posts in and we've already established that I'm an alliteration fangirl.
The plan is that I make a post about five things every Friday. It could be an ordered list of my top 5 favourite beauty products, it could be 5 ways to wear a certain item of clothing, you get the picture. This week, inspired by the rainy weather that England has been receiving, I will be posting about the footwear which everyone is currently wearing - good old rain boots!

An Inglorious Introduction

banner credit: pattern and colours
Well. I've been wanting to start a blog for a long time, and a while ago I realised there was pretty much no point in delaying it - there's nothing stopping me, after all, other than my good old friend procrastination. So I abruptly made up a remotely pretty sounding URL, signed up to a blogging site, tweaked the layout until it was suitably floral and messy, and then...
Er, well, that's about as far as I got. Since then I've been tossing and turning at night and over-thinking what I want my first blog post to be - which is pretty ridiculous, seeing as it's exceedingly likely that this post will achieve a total of 2 views, both of them being me. I decided in the end that it's easiest to simply write a bit about who I am.

So how do you do, person who is reading this, please allow me to introduce myself.
My name's Katy and I'm a woefully short girl from England. My favourite colour is lilac-y purple and my favourite food is dessert. I should mention at this point that I will be blogging about fashion-y things. Not that I'm a fashion designer (can't sew by hand and was once attacked by a sewing machine, it was very traumatic) or supermodel (already mentioned the height thing), I just love pretty things and I love writing.

For me, fashion should be the following things:
1. Comfortable (I don't wear heels because I find them uncomfortable... also I am stupendously clumsy.)
2. Fun, of course.
3. Inclusive of everyone, regardless of shape or size.
4. Unique to you (Not that following a trend is a bad thing - I do it all the time, in fact - but I think it's better to be inspired by trends, not follow every last one even if you're not a fan of it.)
5. Affordable. I love looking for bargains.
I'll leave that as a neat little list of 5, though I could probably ramble on all day. Speaking of rambling, I think this post is more than long enough, so if you've survived to the end I offer you many thanks. See you later (hopefully)!
